Posed photos definitely have their place. They're great for the holiday cards and sharing with extended family. Documentary photos are different. They're for you. To sit down as a family and remember the houses you lived in. How much the kids loved the tickle monster. The finger-sucking phase you were convinced would last forever. What it felt like to have a toddler and a newborn under one roof. How far you've come. How much love exists in your family.

I'm a mom of two, and a sucker for nostalgia. My parents and sister live across the world, and some of my favorite conversations with them are still over scans of old childhood photos shared over text. That feeling of being transported back into a moment you actually lived is what I want to give other families.

This work is for families who want to preserve all of it. The good times they want to return to, and the hard ones they're glad are behind them.
